The Minga

The Minga offers healthy whole-food meals at accessible prices to encourage healthy eating habits.  Operating as a social enterprise, The Minga believes in a triple bottom line approach to business; prioritizing ecological, social, and financial sustainability every step of the way – running a ‘pay it forward program’ to provide free food to those experiencing food insecurity. As a result of this unique approach, and atmosphere, The Minga has become a vibrant community hub attracting both locals and tourist to enjoy their organic, local and fair trade delights.

The Minga was established as a community center and cafe in 2014 to provide a meeting space for the DREAM mentoring program (Designing Routes to Education and Mentorship) and a space where the community can come together for the common good. The beverages and meals offered are to improve the health of its customers as well as the planet through using organic and mostly fair-trade products.

As a not-for-profit café and community center The Minga is fully committed to: helping Dunnville residents be as healthy as possible by offering a whole food plant based menu; creating a healthier planet by serving organic food free of harmful pesticides; and being fair in its commercial interactions by buying local and/or fair trade ingredients and offering healthy delicious food at affordable prices.
