Haldimand Tract Friendship Walk
The Haldimand Tract Friendship Walk is a 3-day walk (4km/day) from Fergus Ontario to Port Maitland Ontario with knowledge exchange stops in 6 places; Fergus, St Jacobs, Waterloo, Brantford, and Cayuga and Port Maitland. The Haldimand Tract Friendship Walk, with its focus on acknowledging and honoring the land and history of the Indigenous peoples, presents an invaluable opportunity to educate the non-Indigenous and Indigenous citizens living within the tract, alike, and to strengthen our bonds of friendship. Demonstrate your dedication to education, inclusion, and reconciliation by participating.
The knowledge exchange will incorporate informational handouts, education on the nearby land and its significance to the Indigenous community, as well as entertainment and food. There will be approximately 50 people participating in the entire walk, with additional people coming out to the knowledge exchange stops. The aim of the Haldimand Tract Friendship Walk is to build bridges of understanding and promote a shared commitment to an inclusive community.
